CULLMAN'S QUICK PARTICIPATES IN USA JUNIOR NATIONALS:
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Cullman High School point guard Jordan Quick participated in the recent USA Junior Basketball Nationals at the USA Sports Academy.
The junior ball handler and scorer for the Lady Bearcats earned an opportunity at the Junior Nationals following a good performance in a tryout for the Alabama team during late February at Samford University.
In the nationals, Quick and her summer mates displayed solid competition on the hardwood against teams from Canada, Texas, California, Michigan, Florida and Colorado.
Quick was able to excell in the free throw shooting competition and finished second in the 3-point shooting category, facing a series of athletes representing other clubs during the national event,
Quick was selected as a first team All-American, receuved a Most Valuable Player award to go with her title as the most accurate foul shooter.
Prior to participating in the Junior Nationals, Quick and her Cullman Lady Bearcats worked hard in the summer season by participating in camps at Danville High School and the University of Alabama.
Coach Jonathan Hayes' squad will look to use the momentum from the summer time into the upcoming high school hoops season as Cullman will have Quick and plenty of returning experience in the quest to be a challenge to the likes of Brewer and Hartselle in their respective area along with a schedule that features several county opponents.
