PIVIOTAL GAMES THIS WEEK FOR THE FOLLOWING:

CULLMAN: Bearcats are finally delighted to play on the new turf at Oliver Woodard Stadium for the first time. The home opener is not going to be easy as a very good Walker team comes in from Jasper looking to end the Bearcats' 13-game regular season winning streak and spoil all of the festivities with Cullman having one of the most spectacular 5A stadiums in North Alabama.

FAIRVIEW: After upsetting Cherokee County in the 4A, Region 7 opener, the Aggies are looking to avoid a letdown this week at home in facing a Douglas Eagle squad that has lost to the Aggies eight of 10 meetings.

HOLLY POND & HANCEVILLE: Both battle one another at Ray Talley Stadium with the winner staying in the race for a playoff berth in 3A, Region 5.

WEST POINT: A chance to start 2-0 in 5A, Region 6 play, the Warriors visit Mortimer Jordan who was slammed to the turf last week by Walker 42-8. The Warriors await word from the AHSAA on who may not be able to play after a bench-clearing altercation last week at halftime of the Curry game.

VINEMONT: Having to deal with the No. 2 ranked Cordova Blue Devils on
the road, the Eagles are looking to minimize mistakes with four turnovers last week leading to 28 points in the 3A, Region 5 opener, a 49-24 loss to
Winfield.
