AHSAA INVESTIGATES INCIDENT AT WEST POINT-CURRY FOOTBALL GAME: Members of the Alabama High School Athletic Association are investigating an incident that happened right at halftime in Friday's Class 5A, Region 6 football game between West Point and Curry. A scuffle between players from both sides broke out on the Curry sidelines just as the game went to the half with West Point leading 24-14. According to information Sportspage has been able to obtain, at least three West Point players and three Curry players started to scuffle with the game officials and Cullman County Sheriff deputies quickly responding to get things back under control. Additional deputies quickly arrived to the stadium to assist in the matter with the coaching staffs for both schools able to seperate their players and send them on their way to the locker room. Game film had to be turned into the AHSAA within 24 hours following the incident as state officials will look at an make a decision if any one involved in the brawl will be suspended for this week's action. West Point could possibly lose three key players with Sportspage being informed who the players might have been involved in the halftime scuffle. All players were ejected by the officials once they got together and discussed the incident. Sportspage will provide additional information once it is released by the AHSAA.

YOUTH FOOTBALL FROM SATURDAY:
Cullman Bearcats 18, Good Hope 6 (Fireplugs) Isiah Jones scored two touchdowns on runs of 24 and 12 yards to ignite the Bearcats in their home opener at the Cullman City Youth Stadium. After Good Hope cut the lead to 12-6 in the second quarter in a 6-yard TD run by Lane Speegle, the Bearcats got the clincher with 2:59 to play in the third on a 74-yard run by Keaton Williams. Cullman is 2-0 on the young season while Good Hope fell to 1-1.
Good Hope 24, Cullman Bearcats 10 (Wee wees) Zane Taylor tackled Good Hope QB Preston Bagwell in the end zone for a safety and the Bearcats led 10-8 at the end of the first quarter. But the Raiders rallied on the passing of Bagwell, a left hander. He hit Zeke McDonald for 44 yards and a score on the final play of the half to send the Raiders ahead 16-10. Early in the third, he connected with McDonald once more, this play covering 80 yards to give the Raiders some breathing room. Good Hope is 2-0 on the season with Cullman falling to 1-1. The first score for the Bearcats came on a 57-yard run by Gavin Whaley with Brayden Scroggins adding the 2-point conversion the first time the home team had the football.
Good Hope 42, Cullman Bearcats 0 (Pee wees) The visitors scored twice in the first quarter and second quarter to get control of the contest. Weston Norton threw a 46-yard scoring pass to Jesse Lee for the first TD, Norton then tossed to Matthew Jones from two yards out to make it 16-0. Norton had a 47-yard run in the second quarter with the lead now 24-0. Lee got his second TD in the third period when he raced 80 yards to the end zone on a fourth and 25 play. Chastin Echols concluded the scoring for the 2-0 Raiders by taking it in from seven yards out with 3:08 remaining in the game.
